The BrideShe does not feel beautiful  As she laces up her ivory gown  Without a groom,  Without a bridesmaid,  Without love on her side.  Her heart feels light  Because it contains nothing  She's not sure she remembers  What happiness is supposed to be.  She slowly puts on glass slippers  Like a Cinderella story  Except the prince never comes  Knocking at her door.  She cries inwardly  Hoping that no one will notice.  She kneels down and prays  Wanting someone to guide her.  She tries to pretend  That she feels like  What everyone tells her  Is the best The Bride
